To create equal access for Deaf yogins to become yoga instructors, DYF provides American Sign Language (ASL) translation during the Sivananda Yoga Teacher Training Course (TTC). From our research, this is the first training course that offers ASL translation for our community and we need experienced ASL interpreters to make it happen! :)

This will be our 3rd annual TTC that a team of selfless-serving interpreters work together to translate ancient Yoga texts and teachings. To date, we have witnessed 8 Deaf yoga teacher graduations and although that may not sound like a lot, prior to our birth, there were only two Deaf yoga teachers (in the USA) and NO TTC programs tailored for our beloved community.

Because of the spiritual nature of this program, all participants (including interpreters) experience self-growth and transformation. This is more than a “working vacation,” this is an opportunity to come closer with your Self and challenge the very essence of who you think you are.

DYF provides 100% of interpreter travel, accommodations & meals. Interpreters are not financially compensated for your time, as this is a karma yoga (volunteer-based) program.
