Inspiring minds & illuminating souls since 2007...

Interpreted chants and spiritual songs

The mission of this service program is to create equal access for Deaf yogins to become yoga instructors. Every June, the DeafYoga Foundation provides ASL interpretation during the month-long and comprehensive Sivananda Yoga Teacher Training Course (TTC).

This will be our 5th annual TTC that a team of selfless-serving interpreters work together to translate ancient Yoga texts and teachings.  To date, we have witnessed 12 Deaf yoga teacher graduations and although that may not sound like a lot, prior to our birth, there were only two Deaf yoga teachers (in the USA) and NO TTC programs tailored for our beloved community.

Because of the spiritual nature of this program, all participants (including interpreters) experience self-growth and transformation. This is more than a “working yoga vacation,” this is an opportunity to come closer with your True Self and challenge the very essence of who you think you are.

DeafYoga Foundation provides 100% of interpreter travel, accommodations & meals.  Interpreters are not financially compensated for your time, as this is a karma yoga (volunteer-based) program.
